birthdays...
well, for those of you who've been wondering (and judging by the SiteMeter reports not many of you have, lol) life has been pretty normal for me since the last post. And that's just fine by me.
Let's see... the boy turns 11 months today. Gotta start planning the 1st b-day party! That will give SuperGirl something to occupy her time for a while. :D
Had a b-day myself, a week ago. Turned 31. Woo-hoo. You know, to be honest, I would rather hang out with family and friends than receive any presents at all. My mom still calls me and says "what do you want for your birthday?". Now I know why the response to that very question from my step-father all these years was "hugs and good grades". Presents are nice, but after 31 years on earth, the best gifts I got for my birthday were (in kind of an order, but not really):
1) waking up one morning last weekend to my wife placing my son at the end of the bed, who yelled "da-da!" and charged up to me and flopped on my chest (he's not quite walking yet).
2) Hugs from the missus
3) Hugs and high-fives from tha boyz at the Guru's 30th b-day party (welcome to the old club). Rockin' party, thanks L and Guru for a right proper throw-down.
4) Chilling at home with some take-out and a movie with SuperGirl.
5) hanging out at SuperMom and Hubby's house with Coach, Karen and the fam. Beautiful day, pool, munchies, beer and a very thoughtful mini-birthday cake courtesy of Coach & Karen. You guys all rock.
6) realizing 31 years have passed and I'm still here. Every day is a blessing.
Final thought: make the world better during your stay, it's not a long one.
